frequently asked questions
How far in advance should I place my order?
Orders must be placed at least 2 weeks in advance. Due to limited availability, it is strongly advised to place orders 2 to 3 months in advance.
Do you have a minimum order requirement?
The minimum order is 2 dozen cookies.
How much do you charge?
Custom sugar cookies are a specialty item! Cookie prices are wholly dependent on how much time they take to create, with custom sets starting at $70/dozen. More information is available on the pricing & ordering page.
Where are you located?
El Dorado Hills, CA
Do you ship?
Due to California cottage food law restrictions, cookies cannot be shipped. Also, they break really easily. No one wants to risk that!
Do you deliver?
At this time, delivery is available between the Bay Area and Lake Tahoe for large orders (over $500) only. Delivery fee will be based on mileage. All other orders must be picked up in El Dorado Hills, CA.
How do I pay for my order?
Payment can be made in the form of check, cash, Venmo, or PayPal.
What if I need to cancel my order?
Life can be unpredictable. Since a deposit is not required, there is no immediate penalty for cancelling an order. However, Treat Yourself Bakery reserves the right to decline orders from clients who have cancelled an order with short notice in the past. If you need to cancel your order, please do so with as much notice as possible.
Do you have a phone number I can call?
There is no business phone number for the bakery. I am a full-time stay at home mom by day, and conduct 90% of my bakery work after my children have gone to bed. Since I do not keep regular business hours, I handle all of my correspondence via email. I will provide a phone number to coordinate pick-ups, but all other aspects of ordering will be conducted via website and email.
Do you ever turn down order requests?
Unfortunately, not every order request is able to be fulfilled. The most common reason an order cannot be filled is due to availability. Also, I will not accept orders with copyrighted images/characters, or anything that is directly copied from another baker/cookie artist. However, I am happy to work with you to come up with a custom set unique to your event inspired by other work.
Do you offer cookie decorating classes?
Not at this time, but it is a hope for the future!
How long have you been in business?
I took my first decorating class in 2011, and officially turned my favorite hobby into a business in 2017.
